Centre Point, the skyscraper that stood empty for a decade while London went without homes, hand-painted in watercolour by Jen Russell-Smith.

Richard Seifert's honeycomb tower at St Giles Circus was one of London's first skyscrapers when it finished in 1966, but its developer left it deliberately empty for years, betting its value would climb faster than any rent. As a housing crisis raged it became a symbol of speculative greed, even lending its name to a homelessness charity. Today it's Grade II listed and luxury flats.
